大江戸とは、18世紀後半以降に定着し、江戸の人口の増加や都市の成長を象徴する言葉として使用されてきた.
そしてこの大江戸が東京になり、世界的な都市に変貌していく。まさにそれは和と洋が融合し、独自の文化が形成されまていく。その中で、現代音楽を作るとき、和と洋のラボレーションは、日本人として欠かせないものと感じていた。そうして江戸城築城以来、急激に大きく拡大していった江戸の町の広がりと繁栄を示す雅言葉でもある大江戸を、世界に挑戦する僕たちの音楽に取り入れたかった。 和と洋の融合は、東京の音楽シーンにおいて重要な役割を果たしており、世界に向けて新しい文化を発信する力となっていくだろう。

The term Oedo became established after the late 18th century and
has been used to symbolize Edo's growing population and urban growth.
And this Oedo became Tokyo, transforming itself into a world-class city.
It was a fusion of Japanese and Western cultures, and the formation of a unique culture.
In this context, as a Japanese, I felt that the collaboration of Japanese and Western music
was indispensable when creating contemporary music.
We wanted to incorporate “Oedo” into our music, which challenges the world,
to show the expansion and prosperity of the city of Edo,
which has expanded rapidly and greatly since the construction of Edo Castle.
The fusion of Japanese and Western music plays an important role in the Tokyo music scene
and will become a force for introducing new culture to the world.
